What are the criteria for racism? The standard can vary from person to person, but we cannot understand others for life unless we have a direct target. Therefore, even if efforts can change people's consciousness, they will not be able to understand and erase whole discrimination.
The work begins with the experience of visiting an exchange student in 2019. In Germany, where I had an exchange student, some people looked at me curiously every day, and in their eyes, they would see me as a passive Asian who reflects in the media mostly.
Therefore, my experience of becoming a minority in a place where most people of other races were an opportunity to look back on past actions toward others.

The picture is a record of the various days when I got racism. I express my feelings by referring to the photos of the date when the incident occurred or recalling them in my head. The colours used in the painting do not have rules or manuals. It just shows reflection on the situation and the arrangement of confused thoughts. It's just a picture of everyday life, but the memories overlap, reminding me of the anger and injustice of the day again. Accordingly, the paintings that focused on reproduction gradually changed into scenes in my memory, leaving only the emotions from the day.
The video mainly focuses on trivial conversations between friends. The sound of trying to say something during the conversation. However, it is soon buried by another sound, showing the helplessness that cannot be solved even if you know the problem.
Images of images that have nothing to connect with sound can occur in daily life, but it shows that they can feel differently depending on how they see and feel. It shows the confusion of racism: that cannot be prematurely defined and easily cannot conclude.

I do not want a changing society by drawing people's awareness of racism through a picture that contains the experience of discrimination. That is because we all recognize differences, but we cannot understand them all our lives as a complete opponent, and the author himself cannot say that he has never discriminated against them. The only hope is to look forward to tomorrow when I look at the experiences that have been in the opposite position through the work and look at them from a slightly different perspective, the Perspective of Tomorrow.
