Translating an Abstract Concept & Evoking Specific Aesthetics within Tight Deadlines: The primary challenge was to create a compelling menswear catalogue magazine for client Niah Kim that not only visually embodied the abstract theme of "Objectify" – specifically, the idea of clothing holding memories within objects – but also delivered this narrative within the distinct aesthetic of an IKEA-style vintage catalogue.
Rapid Execution & Navigating Specific Visual Directives: With a stringent one-week deadline, the project demanded highly efficient design processes and seamless collaboration. The task was to transform the client's initial concept and precise visual references into a final, polished product, requiring swift conceptualization and execution while maintaining clear and effective communication throughout.
SOLUTION
Innovative AI-Powered Design Workflow for Concept Realization: To embody the "memories contained within objects" theme and meet the tight deadline, I proactively integrated cutting-edge AI tools (ChatGPT and Sora) into the design process. ChatGPT was utilized for ideation and refining conceptual descriptions around memory and objects. Sora was instrumental in generating unique, nostalgic, and concept-aligned objects and text textures that perfectly fit the desired aesthetic, drastically accelerating asset creation.
Strategic Visual Development Aligned with IKEA-Vintage Aesthetic: Based on the client's concept and references, I meticulously crafted a distinctive visual look inspired by the clean, functional layouts of IKEA catalogues combined with a vintage, tactile sensibility. This involved creating striking, yet legible, layouts and ensuring that all visual elements – including typography, AI-generated imagery, and subtle textural details – contributed to a unified and impactful menswear narrative that evoked the feeling of cherished memories within everyday objects.
